The highest levels of importance must be placed on understanding the needs of your clients. This can be done through:
- Pre-course / session questionnaires
- Assessment questionnaires and centres
- Pre-course work
- Meeting(s) with clients
- Meetings with those attending
- Time in the business to understand the culture and the people
- Detailed telephone discussions
- Ice Breaker discussions on the day
- Adapting the training throughout the session to flow with the audience
These interventions can all help the trainer to gain a greater appreciation of the clients expectations and skills of those attending to ensure the training is pitched at the right level and is fit for purpose.
